Trip Description

Our 7-day lodge based adventure explores the highlights of the Northern Lynn Canal and Southeast Alaska. Travel from Juneau and visit the unique small town communities of Gustavus, Haines and Skagway along the way.  We are local experts, and with offices in each town, we’ve incorporated the best highlights and adventures for each spot to make the most of your Alaskan vacation.

JUNEAU: Juneau will be the start and finish point for this trip.  Juneau is easy to access via Seattle on Alaska Airlines, and offers a walkable downtown area for easy exploration before or after your adventure.

HAINES: Haines, Alaska is the starting/finishing place for this trip. Haines is a small community located along the fjords at the top of the Inside Passage. The natural beauty and expansive wilderness found here have cemented Haines’ reputation as a premier center for wilderness adventure in Alaska.

GUSTAVUS: Gustavus is a gateway to Glacier Bay National Park.  It is a small community and guests often enjoy witnessing it’s small town Alaska quirks.

SKAGWAY: We’ll spend a few days in the vibrant small town of Skagway.  Its’ proximity to Canada offers easy exploration of the alpine area.  We’ll get away from the more popular cruise ship destinations and visit some of the wild places.  There will also be some time for shopping on Broadway during your visit.

WILDLIFE: Wildlife in Alaska is abundant. We have ample opportunity to scout for whales, seals, sea lions, salmon, eagles, water fowl, black and brown bears, wolves, moose, and many more.

FLIGHT SEEING: On our way from Gustavus to Haines, we’ll fly over some of the most impressive and glaciated landscapes on earth.  On a clear day, this can often be a highlight of the 7 day trip.

OUR GUIDES: Alaska Mountain Guides & Climbing School Inc. instructors and guides are professionals. They are special individuals who have a passion for the natural and cultural history of Southeast Alaska. They bring a wealth of experience from guiding throughout Alaska, and the world, to every trip. Their skill and positive attitudes help our guests to have the best possible experience during their trip.

Guest Comments:

Our guide Ben was awesome, he crafted the course to our specific climbing goals and broke each lesson down into easily graspable concepts. The flight in was spectacular with a glimpse towards Glacier Bay and Fairweather off in the distance, well worth the extra cost!
