    Join Alaska Mountain Guides for a beautiful hiking trip through the spectacular alpine areas of Alaska, and the Yukon Territory, in Canada. There are many different hiking options in this magnificent area. Many of these routes are within the boundaries of the largest protected wilderness area on the planet. They all cover spectacular terrain that includes hiking through beautiful alpine meadows and along stunning ridgelines with fantastic 360-degree views. Possible wildlife sightings include Bald Eagles, Bears, Moose, Wolves, Falcon, Grouse, Mountain Goat, Dall sheep, Marmots, etc. These trips range in length from a half day to 14 days in length, and require no previous experience.

    The wild and scenic hiking in southeast Alaska and the Yukon is one of a kind.     The International Wilderness Leadership School is a division of Alaska Mountain Guides & Climbing school. IWLS leadership programs take place in some of the worlds most alluring wilderness areas and include technical training in: alpine mountaineering, sea kayaking, rafting, canoeing, rock and ice climbing, backcountry skiing/ snowboarding, backpacking and more. We work closely with the Wilderness Education Association (WEA). The WEA was founded by Paul Petzoldt and has been certifying outdoor leaders since 1977. Tanzania and Kenya offer an incredibly rich ecological and cultural experience. East Africa is a focal point within the international outdoor recreation industry.
