Mountaineering  (12 Days)
The Twelve Day Mountaineering Course is one of the most comprehensive climbing programs we offer. It is designed to teach individuals to be competent climbing in the alpine environment. This course is an expedition in its own right, and participants will gain a thorough understanding of expedition climbing skills and logistics. You will learn the techniques necessary to be a safe, confident, climber on a variety of climbing mediums. Areas covered include rock and ice climbing, and general mountaineering. A partial list of skills includes rock and ice climbing technique, ice axe and crampon use, rope team management, knots, anchors, belaying, rappelling, protection systems, hazard/risk assessment, route finding, crevasse rescue, avalanche awareness, and avalanche transceivers. Climbing experience is gained through an exciting series of climbs designed to develop individual skill and technique. There are an incredible variety of outstanding climbing objectives for all abilities! This trip is conducted in a unique mountain environment. The jagged, glaciated, nature of the mountains and the remote setting are ideal places for learning and applying climbing skills.

Darsie,

I just thought I would let you know I went into the Kluane side of the St. Elias Range this past April with 3 other climbers, 2 of them trained by you (and your team). I was quite impressed with their winter mountaineering skills. Much higher than mine. They were smooth as silk setting up camp. Keep up the good work.
